Apparently in Miley Cyrus’ upcoming movie, her character smokes pot. Well, since the real-life mess of her smoking a bong and it going public, the producers have decided to cut that scene out of the movie.
According to Popeater.com, Katie Couric is trying to be the next Oprah. Apparently she is secretly planning on leaving CBS Evening News to launch an Oprah-type talk show.
Justin Bieber’s character on CSI will be back on February 17th. Apparently this will be his last appearance on the show because his character is going to be killed.
Brooke Shields is putting together a one-woman cabaret show that will center around her life as a child star and growing up into a working actor. The musical revue will be called In My Life and will incorporate popular songs and show tunes. It is playing at Feinstien’s here in NYC from today until Feb 10th.
Google has created a work-around for Egyptians cut off from the internet. The company has teamed up with Twitter and a company called SayNow to create a speak-to-tweet service. People just need to call +16504194196 or +390662207294 and leave a message. The service will then tweet the message using the hashtag #egypt.
According to a new poll, Wendy’s is the best burger chain. The poll surveyed thousands of people and they gave 61% favorable rating to Wendy’s. McDonald’s got 56% and Burger King got 51%. (See, for actual burgers I love Burger King and for chicken sandwiches I love Wendy’s)
The cereal brands at your grocery stores may soon be shouting and dancing at you courtesy of a new technology called eCoupling. An electric induction strip under the boxes powers the animation and records inventory levels as items are removed.
Speaking of fast food… Boston Market has added to their menu gluten-free chicken gravy. While the gravy is still pretty fatty, the number of carbs have dropped.
A British company is selling condoms with a picture of Prince William and Kate Middleton on the box. They are called “Crowne Jewels.” The box reads, “Combining the strength of a Prince and yielding the sensitivity of a Princess-to-be, Crowne Jewels condoms promise a royal union of pleasure.” LOL!
Stargazers now have their Graceland. The Channel Island of Sark, located 80 miles south of England, has been designated as the world’s first dark-sky island. Dark-sky communities are places with very little to no light pollution. As a result, the stars are far easier to see and more fun to look at. According to a buzzy article from SPACE.com, Sark is just 4.5 square miles and has "no public street lighting, no paved roads, and no cars." In other words, save for the occasional flashlight or matchstick, there aren't a lot of things to interfere with the nighttime display, which includes "meteors streaking overhead and countless stars on display."
