Jonathan Rhys Meyers was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance after he tried to kill himself. He apparently wrote a note and then tried to overdose on pills. When the paramedics arrived Jonathan somewhat regained consciousness and demanded they not rescue him. The paramedics then called the police saying their patient wanted to die, but the police said to take him to the hospital anyways. So sad.
There are also reports that Owen Wilson has been getting smashed every night and has been talking about “ending it all.” Remember 4 years ago he attempted suicide.

TV/Movies/Music
During yesterday’s episode of Morning Joe, MSNBC senior analyst Mark Halperin called President Obama “a dick” and he’s gotten some serious backlash for it. MSNBC released a statement saying “Mark Halperin's comments this morning were completely inappropriate and unacceptable. We apologize to the President, The White House and all of our viewers. We strive for a high level of discourse and comments like these have no place on our air. Therefore, Mark will be suspended indefinitely from his role as an analyst.”
The George Gershwin American opera Porgy and Bess is coming to Broadway! The cast includes the amazing Audra McDonald, Norm Lewis and David Alan Grier. The show will run in Massachusetts from August to October and then head to Broadway in December. This is an amazing show and now I’ll probably have Summertime stuck in my head all day. LOL!!
Succeeding other Judd Apatow movies like The 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad and Knocked Up, Bridesmaids is projected to surpass them as Apatow's highest grossing domestic film. Not only that, it is also on track to take the crown from Sex And The City as the biggest R-rated female driven comedy.
MovieMistakes.com has announced that X-Men: First Class has had more mistakes in it than any other movie so far. It has 24 documented mistakes including January Jones’ hair changing style mid-scene, a wrongly-dated Nazi coin and a character’s hand that changes position after being stabbed and pinned to a table.
Francis Ford Coppola will be returning to Comic-Con for the first time in nearly 20 years. The director will be showing scenes and music from his upcoming horror film Twixt. The film stars Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, Ben Chaplin and Elle Fanning. The plot: “A writer with a declining career arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. That night in a dream, he is approached by a mysterious young ghost named V. He’s unsure of her connection to the murder in the town, but is grateful for the story being handed to him. Ultimately he is led to the truth of the story, surprised to find that the ending has more to do with his own life than he could ever have anticipated.”
Yesterday was Glenn beck’s last day on Fox News… can’t you tell I’m so sad about him not having a national outlet to spread his lies, insanity and hate?
It is official. Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp sold MySpace for $35 million when five years ago they bought it for $580 million.
It looks like Vinny is going to be off Jersey Shore. Apparently there was a huge blow-out on Wednesday and he left the house. He took off his mic pack, forced it at the producers and demanded to get his phone back so he could go home. He even went back to the house to pack up the rest of his stuff.
Diablo Cody, famous for writing Juno, has been given the chance to direct her latest project Lamb of God. The Christmas movie follows a woman who loses faith in God after a horrific plane crash, but later meets up with him again as a sinful Vegas gal.
Although the status of the Sex & The City prequel film is still up in the air, author Candace Bushnell revealed that she would love to have Selena Gomez play the younger Charlotte if the film gets made.
Seriously… Disney has just hired screenwriter Jason Dean Hall to pen the script for The Hill, an adventure movie based on the Disneyland ride The Matterhorn.
In China, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, the world’s longest bridge, opened. The bridged is 26.2 miles long and was completed in less than four years.
On Monday, a Jetstar passenger got wasted on a flight from Auckland to Singapore and became such a mess, he couldn’t handle his own bladder. When he stood up to go to the bathroom, he decided he couldn’t make it that far, unzipped himself and pissed in the aisle and everyone near him. (GROSS!) He then passed out, when he woke up, he didn’t remember anything. The airlines didn’t call the police (I WOULD HAVE!) but did compensate the affected passengers.

Legal Issues and Politics
Even though Tom Petty issued Michele Bachmann a cease-and-desist order, she continues to use his song American Girl. Now he is planning to take her to court.
Tobey Maguire is in the middle of a nasty lawsuit. He's being accused of playing in an illegal poker tournament that conned more than $300,000 from a convicted felon. Tobey’s answer to the lawsuit, which he put into writing in a legal filing, is that these tournaments were not “controlled games,” which required the host to have a license. Furthermore, he insists that there was no scheme on his part to defraud anyone. If anything, the person who is suing him should be looked into further as he is currently serving time for defrauding a bunch of people out of more than $50 million in a Ponzi scheme.
On July 12th, Jared Edwards, who worked for Keenan, Shawn and Marlon Wayans for nearly a decade, will drag their asses into court and sue them for copyright infringement. He claims that the brothers jacked jokes from him to writer their book, "You Know You're a Golddigger When…" Jared claims that the book was originally his idea and that he had pitched it to the family years ago, but they weren't interested. What makes the case serious enough to go to trial is that Jared is further alleging that the family promised to pay him for his material, but never followed through. So not only are they looking into a copyright infringement case but also breached financial agreement.
The Rhode Island Senate did pass the civil union bill with a 21-16 vote. The bill now goes to the desk of Gov. Lincoln Chafee, who is expected to sign it over the protests of some LGBT groups.
Brazil became the second country in South America (and the most populous in the world) to recognize and perform same-sex marriages! This was possible after their court system said there was nothing in their laws against allowing gays to marry.
In what is hopefully a precedent-setting case, the federal government has dropped its deportation case against a gay Venezuelan man legally married to an American man.
Man, it seems Nicolas Cage is always in legal drama. He is now being sued by a company called Early Bird Productions because he owed them $77,176 for a film they worked with him on in 2000.
It was announced yesterday that LGBT advocacy groups are going to start collecting signatures to get a marriage equality initiative on the 2012 ballot. Organizers must collect 57,000 signatures by January in order to make the ballot. The best part is NOM is in legal trouble there so they can’t help out directly in the campaign.
In a USA Today interview, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel endorsed same-sex marriage, saying that he hopes Illinois soon follow the example of New York.
